Are you dealing with a script or a plugin ?<\/strong>
\nThat’s pretty simple, unzip the file you download.<\/p>\n

The file extension of a script file is .py (python) and .csc (coffee).
\nThe script can come with a picture file that will have the same name than the script. That file will be used as an icon inside Cinema4D.<\/p>\n

If the file extension is .pyp, pype, pypv (python plugin), .cob, .cof (coffee plugin), .dylib, .cdl, .cdl64 (c++) it’s a plugin.
\nYou should also have a sub folder named “res”<\/p>\n

Find the main directory<\/strong><\/p>\n

There’s two place where you can install a plugin or a script. The first place is the maxon directory, the second is your preferences directory.The first place is your application directory, it should be by default :
\nfor windows users  –> C:\/Program files\/MAXON\/CINEMA 4D Rxx
\nfor osx users –> \/Applications\/MAXON\/CINEMA 4D Rxx
\n(of course Rxx depend on the version you own) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The second place you first need to launch Cinema4D, open your preferences dialog box (Cmd+E or ctrl+E or go to the menu edit->preferences) you should find a button named “open Preferences Folder” as in this pictures
\nThat should launch a browser\/finder with the Cinema4D folder selected, just double click it to open it<\/div>\n

Installing a script :<\/strong>
\nNow that you found your “main directory” let’s dive inside the diretory library\/scripts
\nCopy there your script file.
\nInstalling a plugin : <\/strong>
\nInside your main folder, you should have a sub folder named “plugins”
\nCopy the files you have unziped there.
\nTips<\/strong> : you can create sub folders to organize your script \/ plugins. Cinema4D should show the change in its interface.
